History
Flying Pig Thrift was started in September 2018 when Melody Luepke organized a board to oversee the founding of a nonprofit thrift store in honor of her sister Heather, who died of pancreatic cancer. The store opened in July of 2019 in the Hamline Midway neighborhood of St Paul. We currently donate to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Hamline Midway Coalition, and Minnesota Alliance for Volunteer Advancement (MAVA).
Strategic Priorities
Flying Pig Thrift needs a more complete leadership team in order to continue operating. We currently have three board members and our director is working pro bono part time from Arizona. We have a strong supportive local community, but we clearly need to grow our board and director population to move forward.
